Middle School Adjustment Counselor

Murdock Middle School

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Support and monitor the social, emotional and behavioral progress of students. 
• Provide prevention, intervention, and referral services for students with social, emotional and behavioral challenges. 
• Meet with families and/or consult with external parties, such as child protective services and other service providers to bridge the communication gap with home and school. 
• Interpret educational and medical evaluations. 
• Conduct home assessments and support service plans with home and school to address attendance and other family issues that may be affecting a child’s academic, social, emotional growth. 

 

REQUIREMENTS:  

• Licensed, or eligible for licensure as a Social Worker, School Adjustment Counselor, or LMHC  
• Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling  
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and clearly with children and adults  
• Knowledge of community and state agencies and programs for children and families.

Salary: $54,371-$97,866
