Music Teacher
Murdock Middle School (Grades 6-8)
2024-2025 School Year
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Musical Fine Arts
- Valid Massachusetts teacher certification in Music Education, (High School Grade Levels)
- Knowledge of MA standards-based instruction
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, parents, and administrators
- Ability to collect, interpret, and disseminate data
- Willingness to collaborate with fellow building specialists and colleagues
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate expertise and knowledge in a range of musical techniques as well as the elements and principles of music fundamentals, music appreciation, music technology, and instrumental or choral methods;
- Organize and create weekly lesson plans that align to the Massachusetts State Music Frameworks
- Utilize repertoire and materials of all types of musical background, both traditional and contemporary, as well as socially and ethnically diverse, that are appropriate for the ages and skill level of students;
- Assess the needs of students and evaluate student achievement;
- Participate in all professional music department and building activities.

Salary in accordance with the Agreement between the Winchendon School Committee and the
Winchendon Teachers’ Association.
