Director of Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment 

 

REPORTS TO: Superintendent of Schools

SUPERVISES: Supervisor of Instructional Coaches & Curriculum Coordinators; Contributing evaluator for building principals

NATURE & SCOPE OF POSITION: Facilitates the development, evaluation, organization and implementation of curricula, MTSS, educational programming, and assessments, PK-12 across all content areas. Oversees efforts to strengthen classroom instruction, intervention practices, induction and staff retention all with the aim of strengthening student achievement and equity. 

Works collaboratively with the leadership team to nurture common understanding and practices in each of these areas, and communicates with the School Committee and community regarding these dimensions of the district’s work.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 month contract, salary and benefits to be negotiated

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

An individual who holds this position must frequently move in and around buildings and grounds to visit classrooms, and attend meetings, and will regularly be required to sit for an hour or more at a time. An individual holding this position must have the ability to speak and hear in an environment where numerous conversations and activities may be taking place simultaneously. At times, the person in this position will be required to personally receive, unpack and distribute texts and materials to staff or to recruit others to assist with those duties.
